How does it work?
Spring Thread® is made from a polyester and silicone composite material that is:
- Biocompatible – it has been safely used in surgical implants for decades
- Flexible – with elasticity similar to the skin (around 20%)
- Durable – designed to provide support for 3–5 years or more.
Once inserted just beneath the skin, the thread’s tiny rounded cogs gently anchor the tissue. They are designed to avoid any injury and they reposition your tissues, lifting and holding them.
What to expect during your thread lift procedure
Your Spring Thread® procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and will usual take about an hour, depending on the areas to be treated.
We will start by cleansing and marking up the treatment areas. After this, the threads are inserted via specific, discreet entry points. These are often near the temples or behind the ears. We will use a fine, blunt-tipped needle, which you won't feel as the area will have been numbed.
Once we have the threads in position, we will adjust them to achieve the desired lift. They will then be trimmed and secured.
No cutting or stitching is required and there will be no visible scarring.
Is there any downtime?
Recovery from a Spring Thread procedure typically takes 2-3 days. Most patients can return to normal activities within this time frame.
Some minor swelling or bruising may occur, which usually resolves with 7 - 14 days.
