Mona Lisa Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatments

MonaLisa Touch is a fractional CO2 laser treatment, which uses laser light to stimulate the vaginal walls.   This is delivered in pulses of energy via a probe which is gently inserted into the vagina.  The treatment prompts the vaginal tissues to regenerate, restoring thickness, elasticity and moisture levels.

Your physician will perform and gentle internal examination at your consultation to check whether your symptoms are caused by vaginal atrophy and you are a suitable candidate for treatment.  Prior to treatment starting a numbing cream will be applied to minimise any discomfort, after which the laser probe will be inserted into the vagina.   The treatment is not painful and some patients report that the energy pulses feel like bursts of vibrations.   There may be some slight discomfort afterwards, but this is usually minimal.

MonaLisa Touch treatments generally take between 5 and 10 minutes of active lasering.

A course of between one and three sessions, approximately six weeks apart, is usually needed for optimal results.

You should avoid sexual activity for two weeks after your treatment.  It is also advisable to avoid hot baths during this time.

A series of between 1 and 3 treatments, 6 weeks apart, is usually recommended for optimal results initially.

You will also require maintenance treatments every 12 - 18 months after that.

Following MonaLisa Touch treatment you can expect to feel a reduction in vaginal dryness and sexual intercourse should become less painful.   After the course of treatments, urinary tract problems should also improve.
