Reduce fine lines and wrinkles and get fresher, younger looking skin with laser skin resurfacing at CJA Aesthetics Clinics in Southampton, Portsmouth and across Hampshire.
CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing is amongst the latest advances in skin rejuvenation treatment. It can be used to treat a wide range of skin problems by removing the rough outer layers of your skin, whilst at the same time stimulating the deeper layers to regenerate. In addition to smoothing lines, wrinkles and rough patches, the treatment can tighten sagging skin, improve the appearance of scars and tackle uneven pigmentation.
What is CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment with Radio Frequency for Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing remove the skin's surface layer of dead skin cells and promotes the skin's natural healing and regeneration process. A CO2 Fractional Laser treatment uses the laser energy to remove selected areas of the skin's surface, leaving those in between untouched. This results in far quicker healing times, lower complication rates and less downtime than in some other laser skin resurfacing treatments. The laser also penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and promotes the body's natural production of collagen.
At CJA we use the very latest in laser technology from the world leading experts at DEKA. The DEKA Smartxide DOT system allows us to customise the laser settings very precisely for individual patients and particular skin concerns with outstanding results. This is the world's first fractional CO2 laser which offers the additional benefits of bipolar Radio Frequency treatments. Treatments with this latest technology result in significantly less downtime than with other traditional CO2 lasers.

CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing FAQs
At your initial consultation we will examine your skin and medical history to ensure you are a suitable candidate for treatment. At your treatment, the laser settings will have been adjusted to the appropriate level for your particular requirements and we will apply the laser energy to your skin using a hand held device to target the treatment areas.
Any downtime needed following the procedure will depend on the depth of the treatment you have chosen. You will be counselled on this at your initial consultation. If you choose a light laser peel there will be no downtime needed. By contrast, if you choose a deep ablation you can expect your skin to appear red, like mild sunburn. You can also expect some swelling to occur. This should subside within a few days, but can take up to 10 days to clear completely.
We will provide you with soothing products to assist in the healing process. You will need to protect yourself from sunlight during this time.
