CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing in Southampton

CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing Southampton Hampshire Aesthetics Clinic

Reduce fine lines and wrinkles and get fresher, younger looking skin with laser skin resurfacing at CJA Aesthetics Clinic in Southampton.

CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing is amongst the latest advances in skin rejuvenation treatment.  It can be used to treat a wide range of skin problems by removing the rough outer layers of your skin, whilst at the same time stimulating the deeper layers to regenerate.   In addition to smoothing lines, wrinkles and rough patches, the treatment can tighten sagging skin, improve the appearance of scars and tackle uneven pigmentation.

What is CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment with Radio Frequency?

Laser skin resurfacing remove the skin's surface layer of dead skin cells and promotes the skin's natural healing and regeneration process.  A CO2 Fractional Laser treatment uses the laser energy to remove selected areas of the skin's surface, leaving those in between untouched.  This results in far quicker healing times, lower complication rates and less downtime than in some other laser skin resurfacing treatments.   The laser also penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and promotes the body's natural production of collagen.

At CJA we use the very latest in laser technology from the world leading experts at DEKA.   The DEKA Smartxide DOT system allows us to customise the laser settings very precisely for individual patients and particular skin concerns with outstanding results.  This is the world's first fractional CO2 laser which offers the additional benefits of bipolar Radio Frequency treatments.   Treatments with this latest technology result in significantly less downtime than with other traditional CO2 lasers.

CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing FAQs

Which areas of the body can be treated with CO2 Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

«

The treatment can be used on the face, neck, chest and hands, arms and legs.  It is suitable for use on the delicate skin around the eyes and mouth.

What can I expect during my CO2 Fractional Laser treatment?

«

At your initial consultation we will examine your skin and medical history to ensure you are a suitable candidate for treatment.   At your treatment, the laser settings will have been adjusted to the appropriate level for your particular requirements and we will apply the laser energy to your skin using a hand held device to target the treatment areas.

Any downtime needed following the procedure will depend on the depth of the treatment you have chosen.   You will be counselled on this at your initial consultation.   If you choose a light laser peel there will be no downtime needed.   By contrast, if you choose a deep ablation you can expect your skin to appear red, like mild sunburn.  You can also expect some swelling to occur.  This should subside within a few days, but can take up to 10 days to clear completely.

We will provide you with soothing products to assist in the healing process.  You will need to protect yourself from sunlight during this time.

How long does each treatment take?

«

Treatments generally take approximately 20 minutes, but this will depend on the size of the area to be treated.   We will advise you what to expect at your initial consultation.

An advantage of the latest SmartXide Touch laser technology used at our Hampshire aesthetics clinics is that it offers faster and more effective results than some older laser systems.

Does laser skin resurfacing hurt?

«

Laser skin resurfacing can be somewhat uncomfortable but patients do not report that it is painful.  The sensation will depend on personal circumstances and the depth of peel or ablation that you choose.  We will counsel you on what to expect at your initial consultation.

After treatment your skin may feel slightly sore and swollen, but this can be easily relieved with pain killers.  Redness and any swelling should subside within a few days, but can take up to 10 days to clear completely.

How soon will I see the results from a laser skin resurfacing treatment?

«

You should see a noticeable improvement in your skin after just one treatment, once the initial redness subsides.  This can take up to 10 days.   Full results will be visible within 3-6 months as the skin's collagen production increases.

How many treatments are needed?

«

You will only require one laser skin resurfacing treatment to see significant results but a follow up treatment may sometimes be required, depending on your particular skin concerns.

Are there any side effects to laser skin resurfacing?

«

Side effects will depend on the depth of treatment you choose.

We will counsel you on what to expect at our initial consultation so you can make an informed choice.
