Lip Filler Treatments at CJA Aesthetics Clinics in Southampton, Portsmouth and across Hampshire & West Sussex
Lip enhancement treatments, also called lip plumping treatments or lip augmentation, are a popular non-surgical treatment to boost or restore shape and volume of the lip through the injection of a lip filler. At CJA Aesthetics Clinics in Hampshire the procedure is administered by our team of fully qualified aesthetics specialists led by registered doctor, Dr Chris Airey.
If your lips have lost definition as you've got older, or never had the fullness you would like, then lip fillers could be the solution. They will enhance the shape and volume of your lips, giving you more definition to your smile and more confidence in your appearance.
Whether you want a subtle change or much fuller lips, it's up to you. You can choose the amount of filler to be used and the exact look you want. In the course of a thorough consultation, our specialists will create a personalised treatment programme for you, to make sure your lips stay plump and continue to look beautiful.
At our Hampshire aesthetics clinics we use only the best dermal fillers which are made up of hyaluronic acid - a naturally occurring substance in the body which helps to hydrate and plump the skin.
The lip augmentation treatment takes around 20-30 minutes and you will see immediate results. While your lips will appear swollen for up to 48 hours, this swelling will disappear to give you beautiful lips that remain plump and pretty for between four and six months.

LIP FILLER FAQs
Dermal fillers gradually biodegrade. As you can imagine, the length of time they last depends very much on the individual, how your body reacts, which dermal filler is used, and which area has been treated. As a guide, lip fillers usually last between 4-6 months. Dermal fillers in the cheeks and other facial areas may between six to 18 months.
You will experience minor discomfort during the injection of dermal fillers. Topical anaesthetics will be applied to the skin before the procedure to minimise any pain. Our dermal fillers also contain a pre-mixed local anaesthetic.
Yes. If you have extremely thin lips we may suggest a few dermal filler treatments over time.
You may experience some tenderness, redness and swelling to the lips post lip augmentation. Some people may experience pain, itching and bruising. These reactions are generally mild and usually subside within a few days.
The fillers we use are made of Hyaluronic Acid (or HA), a substance which is found naturally in the body. Because of this, HA is easily accepted by the body, and once is has been injected into the skin it will gradually be broken down over a period of months. Hyaluronic acid fillers work by plumping up the lip directly and also trapping water within lips to create a natural looking effect.
Lip fillers are generally very safe, but as with all aesthetic treatments, there’s always a small chance that something could go wrong. That it why it's so important to have the procedure carried out by a fully qualified specialist, such as Dr Chris Airey and his team at CJA Aesthetics.
HA is a very safe product to use, because in the unlikely event of a mistake, your practitioner will be able to reverse the effect with another injection.
When applied professionally by a fully qualified specialist, lip fillers should not feel any different from natural lips.
